Supervision Overview
I provide clinical supervision to Limited Licensed Professional Counselors. I follow the developmental model of supervision in which I provide close supervision early in the relationship, including role play, notes review, case studies and real time communication. As the clinician becomes more competent and self assured, supervision usually becomes less frequent but more intense and creative.
How i work |
During supervisory sessions, I will focus on two primary areas: your personal development as a professional and the growth of your clinical skills. As part of this concentration, I will help you with skills in the areas of case conceptualization, identifying a theoretical orientation, becoming more culturally sensitive, selecting and applying empirically supported techniques and identifying processes, types of clients, or skills with which you may have difficulty.
I will monitor you for signs of Secondary Trauma and may suggest or require that you seek personal counseling or medical treatment if I feel that your ability to provide service is being compromised by your mental or physical health. |
